HTC announces the Touch Pro2 and Touch Diamond2
At last, two of the most successful business-oriented HTC devices have had their official successors announced! In today’s press-conference, HTC Corp. has introduced its finest, the HTC Touch Pro2 and the HTC Touch Diamond2, and from what we see, the two devices have grown up both in size and in specs.

The HTC Touch Pro2 is building upon its predecessor’s design, offering nice and smooth body lines. What we find to be the most exciting here is the really notable growth of the display size. It now measures the impressive 3.6 inches in WVGA resolution of 480x800 pixels. The Touch Pro2 will be powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm processor and utilize 288 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. The new camera will offer 3.2-megapixels with autofocus and the battery will be a 1500mAh one. The device will feature a full QWERTY keyboard and will incorporate the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, the latest HTC TouchFLO 3D interface, a new people-centric communication approach, which basically provides a single contact view that displays the individual conversation history of contacts regardless of whether voice, text or e-mail were used. In addition, the manufacturer has developed a new Push Internet technology. Push Internet will deliver the users from the slow downloading and rendering of pages by providing them with the possibility to preselect their favorite web sites and load them on the instant.

Last but not least, the Touch Pro2 will feature a new Straight Talk feature, which will allow users to easily "turn an e-mail thread into a conference call", just when e-mail communication becomes overwhelming and not effective. When you are following the thread, a green call button will appear next to the each e-mail (pulled from your contacts), which will allow you to select those that you wish to add to the conference call and by turning the phone over, you can activate the high-end speakerphone.

Now, let us take a look at the HTC Touch Diamond2. The next step in the evolution of the Diamond will offer a larger screen, which now measures 3.2 inches, again, with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. The new Diamond will utilize the same 528MHz Qualcomm processor. Its RAM and ROM will also be the same as in the Touch Pro2, respectively 288 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. Those going for the Diamond2 will be delighted to know that it now features a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and will run the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. The Touch Diamond2 is said to offer 50% better battery life, offering 1100mAh. Here, the manufacturer has also incorporated its new Push Internet technology along with the people-centric communication approach. Both the Diamond2 and the Pro2 will now have a touch-sensitive zoom bar for faster and handier zooming of web pages, e-mails, text messages, photos or documents. The latest version of the TouchFLO 3D interface is also present here, in order to provide an advanced touch experience, which is said to be optimized for one-hand use.

The HTC Touch Diamond2 will be released across major European and Asian markets in early Q2 2009 with broader global availability coming later this year, while the HTC Touch Pro2 will be available across major global markets, beginning in early summer.
