HTC Vive VR system clears the FCC
A week ago, we told you that HTC co-founder and current CEO Cher Wang had mentioned that the company will display a big technological breakthrough at CES next month. Her comment referred to the HTC Vive VR headset, and was spoken at a developer's forum for the device. New, unofficial pictures of the headset show that HTC has made some last minute changes to the looks of the Vive and its controllers.

Today, we have received word that the Vive has been certified by the FCC. Not only the headset, but the Vive Controller, Base Station and Link Box all were cleared by the agency.

The product has been delayed because of the new breakthrough, and while HTC will show off the new discovery at CES (which runs from January 6th through January 9th), the Vive won't be launched until April. The manufacturer obviously has high hopes for the product. Sending out a tweet today from the HTC Vive Twitter account, the company writes "We hope everyone is enjoying the holidays with their friends, families and loved ones. 2016 is going to be a big year for #VR."

With the FCC now out of the way, we await CES and look forward to seeing the company's big technological breakthrough in Las Vegas. And as you know, what happens in Vegas during CES gets passed along to you, right here.

Thanks for the tip!
