HTC Touch2 is coming next month
The HTC Touch made Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional extremely popular, thanks to its likeable design and first edition TouchFLO interface. We wonder if the new HTC Touch2 keeps up the good work and does the same for Windows Mobile 6.5? Let´s not jump the gun on this.

For now, the handset looks like an affordable version of the HTC Touch Diamond2, just like the Touch 3G, that was a cheaper alternative to the Touch Diamond. As a whole, there is nothing thrilling about its specifications. The handset will feature 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor, enough memory - 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM, 2.8-inch screen with QVGA resolution and 3.2-megapixel camera. Finally, GPS, Wi-Fi and 3.5 mm. jack are also on board. The Touch2 will be quad-band GSM, dual-band 3G (900/2100 MHz) device, so customers in the US won´t be able to take advantage of broadband internet speeds offered by their carriers.

The new OS version will add support for Windows Marketplace for Mobile and Microsoft My Phone, while the improved Internet Explorer will come with different interface design and Flash support, which will surely come in pretty handy if you are keen on watching videos on YouTube and the like. The touch sensitive area below the screen will hopefully mean easier navigation and zooming. The HTC Touch2 will be running a new version of TouchFLO 3D that looks much more colorful (similarly to Sense UI on Android-based devices).

The device rolls out on 6 October, the day when the new Windows Mobile 6.5 makes its first public appearance. Finally, it´s available at a pre-order price of 320EUR, exclusive of VAT and rabates.
