HTC Touch Diamond2 now on some retailers shelves overseas
A high profile touchscreen device that a lot of people have been waiting for is now available in limited qualities at some retailers worldwide. No, it is not the Palm Pre, but it is the HTC Touch Diamond2. Unlocked and unbranded at the present time, the Touch Diamond2 has improved upon many of the great multimedia features that rocked the first version of this Windows Mobile 6.1 powered device. The screen has been increased in size from 2.8 to 3.2 inches and is equipped with a zoom bar that allows you to get a closer look at pictures and text.TouchFLO 3D has been made even more finger friendly with enlarged icons, battery life has been improved by 50% and the phone sports a 5MP camera with flash, up from a 3.2MP shooter.
If you are interested in buying the Touch Diamond2 now to prove to your friends how important you are, there are two things you will need in abundance: patience and money. You'll need the former because finding a store or web site with the model still available might be tough now that the news is out. Some retailers had as few as 10 units ready to be sold. The latter is also necessary, with the phone leaving the stores at a price in the neighborhood of nearly $700. With Verizon adding the original Touch Diamond to its line-up last week, we guess we'll see at least one U.S. carrier import a version of the Diamond2 to the States, to be offered with a subsidized contract price before the end of the year.
