HTC One M9+ promo shots once again show a home button on the device
With HTC's April 8th media event now less than a week away, many of you are holding on to the hope that the HTC One M9+ will be introduced at that time. The phone has taken on a mythical aura that now surrounds it. Some of that is because the rumored HTC One (M8) max never was introduced last year even though it appeared to be real.

Thursday morning, a series of teasers leaked out of China, apparently showing off the HTC One M9+. The name of the phone isn't printed anywhere on the shots, although the "More than One" title that HTC has named its event does appear, along with the date of the gathering.

There are three teasers, each one magnifying one of the phone's features. One shows the home button blown up. The home button has been one consistent part of most of the One M9+ leaks we've seen recently, and is expected to be the home of the unit's fingerprint scanner. Another part of the phone magnified is the front screen. The handset is expected to feature a 1440 x 2560 resolution display. And the remaining teaser shows the two-tone side mounted power button magnified. Like the HTC One M9, the power button on the big brother will be textured so that users can find it by touch. We also can see that the One M9+ will offer the same two-tone design available on the HTC One M9.

We want you to take these images with the proverbial grain of salt. Still, if they are legit, it will mean a new premium handset for HTC at a time when the company sorely needs something-anything-to give it a shot against the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. With pre-sales in the U.S. said to double those taken for last year's Samsung Galaxy S5, it already appears as if HTC will have a tough time competing with Samsung's new handsets.

Thanks for the tip!
