HTC One (M9) Plus to sport a 5.2-inch display, not a 5.5-inch one

HTC is expected to unveil a successor to last year's One (M8) smartphone on March 1, at MWC 2015. In fact, the Taiwanese handset maker might announce two successors, seemingly called One (M9), and One (M9) Plus - both sharing the codename Hima. Previously, we heard that the One (M9) would sport a 5-inch display, while the (M9) Plus should feature a 5.5-inch screen. However, the latter might not be that large compared to the regular variant of the handset.

According to @upleaks, the HTC One (M9) Plus, aka Hima Ultra, will actually have a 5.2-inch display (with 1440 x 2560 pixels). But why would HTC make two One (M9) variants with displays that aren't noticeably different, size-wise? Well, the screen of the 5-inch model might only have a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Moreover, if the render seen above is accurate (it should be, since it comes from @evleaks), the One (M9) Plus has a physical home button, while the smaller handset doesn't. @upleaks says that this home button includes a fingerprint scanner.

Both the One (M9) and One (M9) Plus should run Android Lollipop with Sense 7.0 UI. It's said that the Plus will have a version powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and another one using a MediaTek chipset. Other expected features include VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, BoomSound speakers, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, and a 2840 mAh battery. Like the One (M9), the One (M9) Plus should have a dual 20.7 MP + 2.1 MP rear camera, and a 4 MP (or 13 MP) front-facing camera.

What do you think, is a 5.2-inch Quad HD display better than a 5.5-inch one?
