While the Android 7.0 Nougat roll-out for the HTC 10 has been hindered by delays across mainland Europe and other regions outside of the United States, there is at least some solace for another sect of HTC handset owners. Notably, the updated firmware is now being pushed to preceding HTC One M9 flagship across parts of Europe, Turkey and South Africa.
The wait for Android updates is often a tedious one, and even though the HTC One M9 is an ageing device, Nougat itself is now six months on from initial availability. After last week's technical hitch with the HTC 10, here's hoping there are no major bugs and owners can be rewarded for their patience with a smooth user experience.
HTC's Product and Service Director Graham Wheeler is the closest source to the action, and along with the tweet below outlining the update, he later added that "more countries [will] follow over the coming days."
HTC One M9 is the latest beneficiary of Android 7.0 Nougat
So, if you are rocking the HTC One M9 and have been waiting patiently to dive into Nougat, you won't be left sitting on your hands for much longer. You'll be pinged when the update is primed and ready for your device and if you'd like to take a more proactive stance, you can check manually by going to Settings --> About --> Software updates --> Check now on your device.
