Unlocked HTC One A9 gets updated to Android 7 Nougat starting today (in the US)

If you have an unlocked HTC One A9 in the US, get ready for some Nougat-y goodness. Mo Versi, Vice President of Product Management at HTC USA, just confirmed that an official Android 7 Nougat update is being rolled out to unlocked One A9 units starting later tonight (January 16). This is HTC's third unlocked handset that's being updated to Nougat in the US, following the HTC 10 and HTC One M9.

HTC did not say when carrier variants of the One A9 will get Nougat, but it's probably going to happen in the coming months. There's also no word on exactly when the One A9 will be updated to Nougat in other regions.

Originally released in October 2015, the One A9 is currently sold by HTC for $429 (though the handset was offered for as low as $299 during various promotion periods, and we're certain that the price will go down again).
