HTC One 2 and One 2 Dual SIM listed on a French government website - is this the M8?
HTC’s rumored M8 might be called One 2 after all, not One+ - at least if a listing discovered on New Caledonia’s Office of Posts and Telecommunications website is correct. What does New Caledonia (a special collectivity of France from the Pacific Ocean) have to do with the new smartphone? Not much, and yet the OPT.nc website mentions the One 2, alongside pretty much every other HTC mobile phone ever made. Surprisingly - or maybe not - an HTC One 2 Dual SIM is also mentioned. According to OPT.nc, both the One 2 and One 2 Dual SIM have 3G connectivity (900 / 2100 MHz) - and that’s all that it can tell us about them.

The list including the two unannounced handsets has the purpose of allowing people traveling to New Caledonia to know if their device can use the local 3G network. Of course, the One 2 and One 2 Dual SIM names might be just placeholders that were put there in expectation of the M8. Even so, a new HTC flagship smartphone with dual SIM capabilities certainly makes sense - since the original One also has a dual SIM version.

Just yesterday, we heard that HTC would introduce an M8 mini alongside the regular M8. A One 2 mini? Could be, could be. Let’s hope that HTC will officially announce the new flagship smartphone (with its possible variants) soon to put an end to all these rumors.
