HTC Oboe is still playing some tunes for Windows Mobile - bound for China though
There's no arguing that HTC has been relentless when it comes to releasing or announcing Android handsets, but at the same time, it's very likely that they're already hard at work in developing a Windows Phone 7 smartphone. With so much work on their plate, it would've been difficult to imagine that the company would still be at arms in releasing a Windows Mobile handset. Seeing that they've been a long time and visible partner with Windows Mobile, it's quite refreshing to hear news about them working on a device for the platform. Apparently the HTC Oboe, which is going to be bound for China, is looking to be one decent looking Windows Mobile 6.5.3 handset that will appeal to a large audience due to its similarities in design to the HTC EVO 4G. Naturally one would instantly think about the high flying HTC HD2 which has become the poster child for the platform right now, but the HTC Oboe may prove itself to be a worthy offering seeing that it's speculated to pack on some decent specs – including an 8-megapixel camera. We'll see in due time if this device does come to fruition and continues their legacy with Windows Mobile.
