The HTC HD7 has only just become available, and it's already on backorder. It's also exhibiting camera problems like those encountered on its Windows Mobile predecessor, the HD2.
Reports from multiple sources show the HD7's camera displaying white hues as pink (see below). This happened on the HD2 as well, and was attributed to a poor camera lens. Areamobile.de, on the other hand, tested the device and found no such problem. They did, however, have some negative things to say about the camera in general: "The focus of the HD7 camera in good light is still okay, but that is changing with decreasing brightness."
The pink-hue issue isn't likely due to the lens itself. It is more likely that the software is translating the color poorly. Users are saying that the problem is fixed when you switch to the 'Candlelight' white balance setting. That's only a temporary fix, as you can't manually adjust and save a more appropriate white balance.
HTC is pretty responsive about such issues, so we can expect a quick software update to resolve the issue. If it does turn out to be a hardware problem, that will be a more sticky problem to solve. Let's hear from you: How are your HD7 pictures turning out?
