Throughout the year, we have passed along some of the tweets sent out by HTC of America president Jason Mackenzie. According to the executive, Sprint's testing of the Android 4.3 update for the HTC EVO 4G LTE will take place in the middle of January, with the software released to users of the phone around the middle of the following month.
HTC missed its target for this update, as back in October Mackenzie tweeted out a schedule that included an update to Android 4.3 and Sense 5 for the HTC EVO 4G LTE before the end of the year. The update will include Sense 5 which means that owners of the device will be receiving BlinkFeed for their phone. This feature offers visual updates from user's favorite news sites and social networks.
We really can't be too hard on HTC and especially Mackenzie. The Taiwan based OEM has been about as transparent as can be about updates, led by the HTC America president and his Twitter account. And, well, yeah, his track record on the timing of some updates has been nothing to brag about, but he is trying to keep an open line of communication between what is going on in Taiwan and one of HTC's most important regions.
