Owners of the HTC DROID ERIS have reported that their phones have received a new over-the-air firmware update starting today. The update is to resolve an issue where the DROID ERIS would not properly wake up from screen saver mode, as the display would stay locked or show out-of-service. Unfortunately, this does not update the OS to Android 2.1, as it remains Android 1.5, but with the ROM changing to 1.17.605.1. As you may recall, the device has already received an update last month, with addressed a number of issues.
