HTC BlinkFeed, Gallery updates for HTC One (M8) found in Google Play Store
Like Motorola before it, HTC has put several of its system apps up on the Google Play Store where updates can be easily downloaded and installed. This sure beats having to wait for an update to be approved by your carrier before it gets to your phone. With that in mind, HTC has already posted some updates for the HTC One (M8).
At the Google Play Store, HTC One (M8) owners will find some changes for BlinkFeed. Users of the new HTC flagship will see optimized scrolling, additional social content and the proverbial bug fixes. The Gallery app also has received an update, available in the Google Play Store, that allows you to tap the screen anywhere to get the Foregrounder effect. There are four such effects thanks to the dual-cameras on the HTC One (M8), Sketch, Zoom Blur, Cartoon, and Colorize.
This is obviously the wave of the future, taking updates away from the slow process of carrier testing, and giving the power to the consumer. If you have the HTC One (M8), you can head right to the Google Play Store and update your new phone.

Sketch makes the background of your pictures look like the animation from the 1980's classic "Take on me," while Zoom Blur lets you make a blurring effect from where you start the focal point on the picture. Cartoon makes the background on your photo look like a colored pencil drawn cartoon background and Colorize cools off the temperature of the color on your picture.
