HTC 8X for Verizon to support wireless charging
In what may be an exclusive to the US market, sources have revealed that the Windows Phone 8X by HTC for Verizon will support wireless charging. Those same sources also told the gang over at The Verge that the device would not be any thicker to accommodate the inductive coil that is needed to enable such a feature.
While Nokia has officially announced that Verizon would carry the Nokia Lumia 822, there is yet to be an official announcement from the carrier or HTC as to when the 8X would be released. However, we know that the carrier will be offering the 8X as it was announced by Microsoft at the Windows Phone 8 event. True to form though, no hard dates were given, only a time frame of “by Thanksgiving.” That said, we have caught word that the devices may launch as soon as November 8th.
The Windows Phone 8X by HTC is a nice device, does this feature add any value to you if you are a Verizon customer?

It is fitting for the Verizon 8X to support wireless charging. After all, the Lumia 920 will have it, but it will be exclusive to AT&T. AT&T will also have the 8X, but no doubt the carrier (and Nokia) do not want anything remotely casting a shadow near the Lumia 920. The Lumia 822 will support wireless charging, but is positioned as a mid-range device beneath the Windows Phone 8X by HTC. So, it seems to be a good move on the part of HTC and Verizon to provide some added differentiation.
