HTC 7 Pro is officially a go over in Germany
Early last week, we reported that the inevitable release of the HTC 7 Pro in Germany was getting really close with an anticipated launch expected some time this week. And rightfully on schedule, we're seeing the first official launch of the handset overseas with O2 Germany. Customers can pick up the handset right now for a the no-contract price of €599 ($796) – which is luckily an unlocked model that can be used elsewhere.
Executive Director of the DACH region at HTC, Andre Loenne said in a press release, “The launch of Windows ® phone 7 in the fall of 2010 a significant milestone in the market for mobile phones. With the HTC Pro 7, we extend our Windows ® phone portfolio with a very powerful smartphone with a keyboard. This smart phone is mainly for business users who work with different platforms and programs and who do not want to give up multi-media applications, and leaves nothing to be desired. HTC once more met the challenge to develop smartphones that meet well the individual needs of customers – whether business or home users.”

Stateside, Sprint is gearing up for a likely launch some time in the near future, but there has yet to be any official announcements regarding the handset's availability. However, since there are yet to be any CDMA Windows Phone 7 smartphones in the market, Sprint could in fact have an “industry first” up its sleeves.
