HP said to be prepping a 10 inch Android tablet featuring a quad-core processor
There is some speculation that HP is working on a 10 inch Android flavored tablet, powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. The tablet, said to be named the HP SlateBook 10 X2, was discovered by a German web site that discovered the slate on the AnTuTu Benchmark website. Android 4.2.2 is said to be pre-installed out of the box.
Unfortunately, the rumor did not come with a launch date or a possible price. If the rumored name of the device seems familiar, that could be due to the HP Envy X2, a Windows 8 powered slab. Meanwhile, the Palo Alto based tech giant has just released the Android powered HP Slate 7 that is priced at just $169.99. This slate (or Slate, if you prefer) offers a 7 inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, and is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz processor. 1GB of RAM is inside along with 8GB of native storage that can be expanded using the microSD slot that is aboard the tablet. A 3MP rear-facing camera and VGA front facing snapper are on the tablet while the device has Beats Audio aboard.
Hopefully, we will see HP launch this 10 incher soon, which would seem to be the next step for the company to take if it wants to grow out a portfolio of Android tablets.
