HMD to launch two new flagships this year, Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 Pro incoming?
Finnish company HMD Global pretty much nailed it at MWC 2018, but many good things are still about to happen to Nokia fans. Although Nokia 8 Sirocco is the company's new flagship smartphone, at least two other top-tier Nokia-branded phones will be released by the end of the year.
If you believe Nokia 8 Sirocco leaves to be desired when it comes to the camera or other aspects that you think should offer more in terms of features, HMD plans to launch the Nokia 8 Pro and Nokia 9.
Even though we don't know what names HMD will use for these phones, sources with knowledge about the company's plans claim the Nokia 9 will be the better phone. It will boast a slightly larger 5.7-inch display, whereas the Nokia 8 Pro is said to include a 5.5-inch screen. Their specifications haven't been confirmed though, so take it with a pinch of salt for now.
However, one of the main selling points of the Nokia 9 will be the long-rumored penta-lens camera module, which won't come with the Nokia 8 Pro. Also, rumor has it, Nokia 9 will be HMD's first smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. Both phones will be equipped with Snapdragon 845 processors, but they may come with different amounts of memory.
The report suggests HMD plans to unveil the Nokia 8 Pro sometime in August, while the Nokia 9 should be revealed at least one month later.

Price-wise, Nokia 9 is expected to cost around the same as other major flagships coming this year, such as the Samsung Galaxy S9. Still, the Nokia 8 Pro will be much cheaper to offer consumers a better alternative to the likes of Samsung Galaxy S9, LG G7, and HTC U12.
