So, in mere hours, we will be witnessing the
unveiling of Google's new Pixel phones. Successors to the Nexus line, the new devices will have a lot more Google DNA in them, as the company has reportedly been responsible for the hardware design as well as the software part of things.
We've known for a while that they will be called Pixel and Pixel XL, and Google has been marketing the event with the #madebygoogle hashtag. But a trademark application to the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) seems to reveal the full name of the devices.
Apparently, the phones are to be called G Pixel Phone by Google. You know, just in case you didn't know these devices are entirely Google-designed. Yes, that does seem like a bit of a mouthful, but we do believe that the "Phone by Google" part would be stylized as a subheading. So, does G Pixel sound good to you or not so much?
