Google Play Store support is coming to more Chromebooks this year
Having the full Google Play Store experience on your Chromebook is great, but unfortunately, not all Chromebooks are made the same. Or, at least, not all Chromebooks are made at the same time, leaving many models out of the game. In January of 2017, Google announced that all Chromebooks launched in 2017 and onwards will have support for Android apps, and gradually introduced support to a number of older models over the course of 2017.
And this process is continuing, still, with Google recently adding another 10 Chromebook models to the list of devices slated to get Play Store support. However, the waiting isn't over, as the majority of models listed are yet to reach the beta channel, while a couple of others are headed toward the stable channel, Android Police reports.
Here is the list of Chromebooks slated for Play Store support, published on the Chromium projects page:
Stable channel:
- Acer Chromebook 11 (C740)
- Dell Chromebook 13 (7310)
Beta channel:
- Acer Chromebook 15 (CB5-571 / C910)
- CTL J5 Convertible Chromebook
- eduGear CMT Chromebook
- Haier Chromebook 11 C
- PCMerge Chromebook PCM-116T-432B
- Prowise Chromebook Proline
- Toshiba Chromebook 2 (2015)
- Viglen Chromebook 360
