Google Voice update brings option to make and take calls over Wi-Fi
It's not yet official, but it looks like Google Voice Wi-Fi calling is now being rolled out to more Android users. Up until now, Google Voice would redirect calls through another number, but thanks to the new feature added by Google, users will be able to make and take calls over Wi-Fi.

The Google Voice Wi-Fi calling feature has been in testing since the beginning of the year, but some users who aren't enrolled in the beta program have started to see the new option appearing on their phones.

There's a new menu in the Google Voice app, which allows users to set how they want to place Voice calls via data connection or through carrier forwarding system. Obviously, you'll have to start your call with Google Voice not through the dialer app.

Google has yet to confirm the roll-out of the Google Voice Wi-Fi calling feature, and there's no sign of any updates in the Google Play Store yet. Still, if some have already got it perhaps Google is finally rolling out Wi-Fi calling to Google Voice users.
