Google Play reviews integrate your Google+ profile
As Google has said all along, Google+ isn't really a social network, it's a social layer on all Google products, and the future of Google as a whole. This new update to the Google Play Store proves that by integrating your Google+ profile for reviews.

The new update has only rolled out to the Google Play website so far, but it is sure to be in an update to the Android app in the near future. The Play Store has had issues in the past with bogus reviews, and reviews that were nothing but gibberish, and this change is obviously an attempt to combat that.

As of now, all reviews that had been posted before this update will be marked as written by "A Google User", while any new reviews will show your Google+ profile name (theoretically your real name), and your profile picture.

We're fully on board with this idea, because while anonymity has its uses on the Internet, it is our belief that reviews and comment threads should be tied to real names. People should learn to defend what they say, take responsibility for it, and accept consequences for words, not hide behind pseudonyms that foster trolls.
