Google is testing quick access buttons for Maps that will quickly take you home or to work
We've redacted the addresses, but you can see the access buttons being tested on Google Maps right under the search bar
If telling Google to Navigate to work or home is just too much for you to handle, there is potentially good news coming. Google is testing quick access buttons for Google Maps. There would be a pair of these buttons found right under the search bar; one is labeled Home and the other Work. As you probably figured out now, if you're heading to the office, tap on Work. If you're heading back to the wife and kids, click on Home. It can't be any easier or faster than that.
The quick access buttons have appeared on the beta version of Google Maps that we're running (see the accompanying image at right). When we tap on the search bar, the quick access buttons appear. As we said, this new feature is being tested by Google and frankly, we can't see any reason why it shouldn't pass the test.
