Google Maps, Waze updates add Siri integration for iOS 13 and CarPlay
Now that Apple released iOS 13, more developer with bring specific features like Dark Mode and Siri integration to their apps. Pandora and Shazam have already released updates that add such features a few days ago, even before iOS 13 was made available to the public. Today, two other important apps are being updated with similar features: Google Maps and Waze.
Both navigation apps have been updated to include Siri integration, 9to5mac reports. With the latest versions of Google Maps and Waze, iPhone users will be able to ask Siri to give them directions using either of the two apps.
No matter what's your go-to app when it comes to navigation, you can now ask Siri on iPhone and CarPlay to get you directions to a destination using a specific app, Google Maps or Waze. If you don't specify one of the two apps when asking Siri for directions, it will default to Apple Maps.
These changes have been added in the latest versions of the apps, so if you want to benefit from them, then make sure to download the new Google Maps and Waze apps via the App Store.
