Google's Gboard keyboard app exceeds 1 billion downloads in the Play Store
By now it's pretty clear that Gboard is one of the most popular keyboard apps for mobile devices, but even if we knew that the fact that it's got over 1 billion downloads on Google Play Store is still an impressive achievement.

Not many apps managed to exceed 1 billion installs in the Google Play Store, but here are some of them for reference: Skype, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and Google Photos. Google has been keeping Gboard up on par with the competition and these are the results.

If you haven't yet tried out Gboard, you should know that you can always replace whatever other keyboard apps you're using and give Google's app a go. Gboard features support for hundreds of language varieties and multi-lingual typing, which means you won't have to switch between languages manually.

Google Translate is integrated into the app as well, so you'll notice that Gboard is translating as you type in the keyboard. There are many, many other nifty features that few other keyboard apps offer for free, so it's really no wonder that so many Android users have decided to go for it.
