Google to add battery saver mode to Gboard keyboard app
Google's Gboard keyboard application has come a long way since market release thanks to the monthly updates it receives. Just like many other developers, Google is testing new features and improvements it plans to add to Gboard in the beta channel.
The latest Gboard beta build includes some new features that have a high chance of being released to everyone in the next update. The most important improvement is the so-called battery saver mode, which is meant to save your phone's battery when using Gboard keyboard by switching to a dark theme and disabling some power hungry features. The battery saver mode can be enabled and disable manually.
Also, another nifty improvement that's likely to be added to the app is the low storage warning which will pop up whenever your device has run out of storage. Furthermore, an OCR tool might be directly implemented within the Gboard app, so you won't have to use Google Lens when you need this specific feature when you're typing something.
And, finally, an option to favorite stickers might be available to Gboard users as well, which will come in handy since there are now hundreds of stickers available for download.
