Gone in a flash: 100,000 Meizu M1 (Blue Charm) units sell out in 60 seconds

Nothing like a good flash sale to quicken your pulse. On Wednesday morning in China, the Meizu M1 (Blue Charm) went on sale, priced at $112. Just 60 seconds later, 100,000 units were purchased and the device was sold out. In case you were wondering if the number of phones sold was genuine, Meizu says that it used an anti-fraud filter to make sure that all of the orders were real.

The Meizu M1 features a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 768 x 1280, producing a pixel density of 299ppi. A 64-bit quad-core 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6732 CPU is under the hood, along with the Mali T-760 GPU. 1GB of RAM is on board with 8GB of native storage. Those requiring additional memory can turn to the 128GB capacity microSD slot. A 13MP camera is found on the rear of the unit, while a 5MP camera adorns the front. As we recently told you, Meizu had to switch to a lower capacity 2500mAh battery from the 2610mAh cell originally expected to power the phone. Through optimization, the manufacturer was able to keep battery life the same. The device offers LTE connectivity.

Meizu will surely return with another batch of M1s, especially after such a promising start. The flash sale format seems to work perfectly in the region with low-priced "value" models like the Meizu M1.

Thanks for the tip!
