Gold HTC One caught on camera
Some smartphones are born with color, and some smartphones have color thrust upon them. The HTC One is part of the latter group. At launch, there was a silver option and black. Then HTC released a red variant of the One for Sprint users, and we also recently saw a metallic blue option that will be exclusive to Best Buy. Now, it looks like there may also be a gold version on the way too.
Obviously, there will be those who say that HTC is copying Apple (who is copying Vertu, who was copying Goldmember, who was copying Goldfinger, who was copying King Midas, and on and on), but that's a silly argument no matter how you slice it. Products have been covered in gold since man first figured out that gold melted. And now, HTC may be doing it with the One.
It's hard to say for sure that this is real though, because as you can see in the picture, it's not even really a device, but rather just the display and front casing. We wouldn't be surprised if it did turn out to be real. HTC has proven that it wants to have as many Ones as possible.
