Giant Nokia 5800 XpressMusic stops traffic
The bigger the cellphone, the bigger the...fun? A gigantic replica of Nokia's touchscreen 5800 XpressMusic has been placed right near the Nokia Store in Antwerp, Belgium. Standing over 1.2m/4 feet tall, the model allows pedestrians to play music, browse online and otherwise fool around with the device. But the truth is that this is all just a clever illusion developed by touchscreen specialists at Visual Planet and was distributed by Create Multimedia. The large phone is controlled by pressing on the glass which activates a Flash application that mimics the phone's interface. The hardware was made from iWindow interactive foil which allowed the screen to look great, even in sunlight. turning a giant sized version of a cellphone as an advertisement display seems to be in vogue these days. As we reported about 3 weeks ago, Samsung and Cricket teamed up to bring a giant sized version of the manufacturer's Messager handset to the general public. Now if we could only see the jeans pocket that these phones fit into.
