The Gear S3 is already shaping up as a successful successor to the Gear S2, as mere days after pre-orders for Samsung’s new smartwatch were opened in the UK, both models both the Frontier and Classic model are now out of stock due to “high demand”. The S3 looks great and seems to be an improvement from the S2 in pretty much every way, on paper at least, but throwing in a free pair of Level Active headphones for the first 1,000 pre-orders may have also played a role in pushing more units. Either way, if you live in the UK and want an S3, you’d better subscribe to be notified via email when the two models are in stock again.
The Samsung Gear S3 comes in two main variants – the Classic and the Frontier. The Classic is more reminiscent of a luxury watch, whereas the Frontier features a more rugged design and is obviously geared toward the sporty types. Both models are currently priced at $425 on Samsung's UK site, and shipments are expected start arriving on Friday, November 11.
