Garmin Fenix 6 series officially unveiled ahead of IFA 2019
Leaked less than a week ago, Garmin's Fenix 6 smartwatches have just been officially revealed. A common trait for the smartwatch lineup is the so-called Power Manager for longer battery life, as well as the PacePro technology that lets runners compensate for elevation changes.
Part of the Fenix 6 series is Garmin's first-ever GPS watch to offer solar charging, the Fenix 6X Pro Solar edition, which is designed with Power Glass, a transparent solar charging lens that uses sun's energy to extend battery life.
The Fenix 6X Pro Solar features a rugged design with a large 1.4-inch display, larger than any other Fenix 5 smartwatches. According to Garmin, thanks to the solar panel, the battery performance on the Fenix 6X Pro Solar in smartwatch mode is 21 days plus an additional 3 days when utilizing the solar charging capabilities.
The Fenix 6 and Fenix 6X are the cheapest models of the lineup, but even so, they're quite powerful. They come with 1.3-inch and 1.4-inch displays, but for extra money, customers can add Wi-Fi and music storage. Both will have sapphire editions that add the quality and durability of a scratch-resistant sapphire lens and other premium materials.
In total, there are three basic models – Fenix 6S (42mm), Fenix 6 (47mm), and Fenix 6X (51mm), which can be further improved with various specs like sapphire or solar displays, Wi-Fi and storage.

The Fenix 6 series is available now for prices that start at $600, but the most expensive can cost up to $1,150, although you'll be getting a solar display.
