The Midnight Black Galaxy S8+ with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage is officially out of stock in South Korea. The initial batch of 150,000 units that Samsung produced has already been sold out, only 5 days after pre-orders for the Galaxy S8/S8+ officially began in the East Asian country.

The unique variant which is currently exclusive to South Korea and China carries a spectacular price tag of KRW 1,155,000 or about $1020. Consumers can still pre-order the special edition of the Galaxy S8+, but Samsung advises that the second batch will start shipping as late as the end of May. A free DeX docking station is offered to all early adopters of the beefed up flagship.

The Seoul-based tech giant also reports that it has managed to sell a total of 620,000 S8/S8+ units in Korea so far, which indicates that the two 2017 flagships will very likely become the best-selling Samsung smartphones in history. As you may know, the company boasted that it managed to sell 550,000 units in the first two days on its home turf alone. That's a massive 150,000 units more than the Note 7 before it, and whopping 5.5 times more than the Galaxy S7.

It still remains to be seen how the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will perform on the global market, but so far, all the prerequisites for a grand slam are present.
