Samsung Turkey has posted the preliminary release dates for the Android 8.0 Oreo update for a bunch of devices, including the Galaxy Note 8. These dates could be a good indicator of when to expect the update to roll out throughout Europe and other international markets.
Turkish website "Güncelmiyiz", which is owned and operated by Samsung Turkey, is a portal for all upcoming software updates for Samsung devices. And guess what – the Galaxy Note 8 page has been updated to contain information about the next Android update, in this case 8.0 Oreo. It also says the firmware is in testing phase and the update is expected to arrive on March 30, at least in Turkey.

A couple of other device pages have been updated as well, including those for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Galaxy Tab S3, all to contain information about their upcoming Android 8.0 update. Keep in mind that all the dates might be valid for Turkey only and nothing has been mentioned about when the update will be available in other regions.
The Samsung Android 8.0 update saga has been going on for quite a while now. For example, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have just received the Android 8.0 update – six and a half months after its initial release. It's a bit of a shame that Samsung is yet to update the Galaxy Note 8 to the latest Android version, considering that we already know about the features of Android P – the next installment of the OS.
