Galaxy Note 5 may have the great selfie camera of the S6
Samsung took a page off the Chinese manufacturers' book, and ditched the puny 2 MP frontal camera of the S5 for a wide-angle 5 MP shooter on the S6 and S6 edge. In fact, the selfie upgrade started with the Note 4, which comes with a 3.7 MP cam, but the S6 really takes it to the next level.
Most flagship and even midrange Chinese phones now come with at least 5 MP front snappers, and some even employ 8 MP one, but megapixels aren't everything, and the 5 MP unit on the S6 is actually a photographic tool with proven quality. It took the first place in our selfie shootout amongst major handsets, with admirable performance in the hardest of circumstances for a mobile camera piece - in low-light and indoor shooting.
Now, proof has emerged that the upcoming Note 5 flagship might sport the same excellent front-facing cam of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. A support page for the Galaxy S6 selfie camera has an intriguing piece of code buried in its HTML file. It lists the selfie-taker of the S6 and S6 edge as also compatible with two other phones, only marked as N925 and N920F. If you recall, these are internal codenames for the Galaxy Note 5 variants, indicating that Samsung could use the same 5 MP front camera on its newest phablet, too, which we would only be pleased if it does.
