See which Galaxy J series devices are getting Android 8.0 Oreo soon

Today, Samsung passed 11 models from Galaxy J series through the Wi-Fi Alliance. All of them are existing handsets and each of their certifications showed them running Android 8.0 or 8.1 Oreo. See the below gallery for all the phones included, and to see if your model number is included.

Getting certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance is one of the last steps a software update takes before getting officially launched, so you should see the update appear in the next month or so.

Android 8.0 Oreo features a redesigned notification system with more granular controls, a redesigned Settings app, and better battery management. For a deeper dive into Oreo, check out our in-depth coverage here.

Android 8.1 Oreo features automatic dark/light themes, a redesigned power menu, and more cool things which we covered in-depth.
