Free Carmageddon for Android and iOS is a pedestrian-splatteringly-good Friday deal!
What can be said about Carmageddon, the bloodiest racing game of all time, bested only by its sequels, that hasn't been said already? To celebrate the Kickstarter-funded Carmageddon: Reincarnation's debut on Steam Early Access, developer Stainless Games is giving out the Android and iOS ports of the original 1997 Carmageddon for free. The deal will last for 24 hours.
Carmageddon for mobile features 28 "dangerously deranged" opponents, 11 "wildly exhilarating" environments, a Career Mode with 36 levels, 30 drive-able and destroy-able cars, and an Action Replay system. While you certainly need a strong stomach and an appreciation for retro games to grow fond of it, the gory racer can be lots of fun. Check out its trailer (top), followed by the original Carma intro from 1997 (bottom) for nostalgia's sake.
Note that the "Carma Free" app, which will pop-up while searching for Carmageddon on app stores, isn't what you're looking for - that's just the demo. Stainless Games is giving away a version labeled "Promo" – that's the full free game you're after. Or, you can skip the search entirely, and just use our handy links:
