Force HDR coming to Windows 10 camera app for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL
The way that 'Rich Capture' is currently set on the Windows 10 camera app for the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL cameras, the user cannot decide when HDR can be employed as the feature is triggered automatically. In shots taken in sunshine, HDR rarely gets used. The idea behind High-dynamic range imaging is to make a picture appear more realistic. To do this, different exposures of the same subject are merged together to form a more life-like picture.
Microsoft imaging chief Juha Alakarhu told AAWP the other day, that Force HDR is coming to the Windows 10 camera app. This will allow users of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL to turn on HDR even in bright sunshine. The Windows 10 camera app allows those with the Nokia Lumia 930 and below to turn on or off HDR. On the two newer Lumia models, the options are Off and Auto. That apparently will be expanded to On/Off/Auto when the update to the app is made.

There is no word on when Microsoft will be updating the camera app to add the HDR "on switch." When it comes, it will be a worthwhile addition to those Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL users who like to be artistic with their cameras.
