A picture of the Apple A10 chipset surfaced today, giving us our first look at the component that will be driving the next generation of iPhone models. It is the sequel to the Apple A9 SoC found in the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus. While the A9 was built by Samsung and TSMC based on Apple's design, the A10 is expected to be built only by TSMC.

While the A9 featured 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM, there has been speculation that Apple will bump that up to 3GB in the A10. The current chip also carries a dual-core 1.84GHz processor, A Geekbench test that we showed you yesterday included the A10 chip and showed it with a dual-core 2.37GHz CPU. However, Primate Labs founder John Poole has called that specific benchmark test a fake.

Apple is expected to unveil and launch the 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 7 and 5.5-inch Apple iPhone 7 Plus next month. The rumored changes include the disappearance of the 3.5mm earphone jack, new positions for the antenna lines, a capacitive touch home button, bigger rear camera lens for the iPhone 7, and a dual camera setup on the rear of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
