First Android 7.0 Nougat beta build about to reach the Xperia X Performance
Back in September, Sony announced that it will launch an Android 7.0 Nougat beta program and invited Xperia X Performance users to apply for one of the limited spots. Today it looks like Sony is finally ready to launch the Android 7.0 Nougat preview to its fastest smartphone.
According to Xperia-Blog, the company has recently started sending out emails to successful applicants. The confirmation email mentions that the Android 7.0 Nougat beta update will roll out in the next 48 hours.
If Sony's Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta program is any indication, the first few firmware builds in the 7.0 Nougat preview for the Xperia X Performance will be quite minimalistic. It makes sense for the company to start off with a slimmed down version of the OS and then progress to adding new features as stability is confirmed. We don't expect to see anything fancy on Sony's behalf, however, as all previous Xperia UX versions have resided on the lighter end of the customization specter.
