Farmville is looking to make its presence known on Windows Phone 7
If there is one key area that Microsoft intends on attacking straight out of the gates when they launch Windows Phone 7 to the world, it undoubtedly would have to be the gaming department. At this point, it's no secret that the new mobile platform will heavily integrate Xbox Live with the platform since that it will be “the hook that helps sell Windows Phone 7 devices and unseats Apple’s iPhone iOS operating system, BlackBerry OS and Android as the dominant mobile platform.” Those words came from the mouth of Matt Thompson himself, and who happens to be the general manager of developer and platform evangelism for Microsoft.
Now the interesting part of their plan in getting the ball rolling will be the notion that Zynga's Farmville will be coming to Windows Phone 7. Naturally, this game would seemingly fit in place with the platform – even more when it's one of the most popular Facebook apps; with over 62 million active users. Even though most Windows Phone 7 handsets will be equipped in dealing with 3D intensive games, the addition of Farmville will broaden the platform's gaming department since it pretty much encompasses a broad mix of gamers.
