Fandango waives fee on movie tickets purchased through Android app
It's the weekend and if you own an Android phone, you probably will be using the Fandango app which allows you to view movie trailers of current and upcoming flicks. Using your handset's GPS, it will also quickly come up with theaters near your location and starting times. Certain theaters will allow you to purchase tickets directly from the app. The 16,000 screens that allow you to purchase your ducats directly from Fandango are more than any other movie related application available. While Fandango normally tacks on a $1 per ticket convenience charge, from now through March 7th, movie tickets purchased through the Fandango Android app will not be charged the $1 fee. The company says that they are waiving the charge as a way to promote the app which has been available in beta version for about a month now for Android users. The offer was originally announced by Fandango through a tweet. Android users can find the Fandango app at the Android Market or through this link.
