Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp are all down at the moment
UPDATE: Everything's finally back up and running!
###
Millions of people across the globe rely on Facebook and its multitude of platforms to communicate with one another and stay up to date. But since approximately 9:00 am PT/11:00 am CT this morning, users across the globe have been encountering issues with Facebook’s apps.
As things stand, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp are all down in various regions across the globe. According to website Down Detector, the majority of users affected are situated in North America, Europe, and Latin America.
Certain people attempting to use Facebook are seeing a message stating that the social network is “down for maintenance.” Others, on the other hand, simply receive an error message that says “something went wrong.”
As for Instagram, those attempting to access the social platform have found that it simply doesn't load or refresh. Similarly, messages transmitted through WhatsApp or Messenger aren't sending.
Fortunately for users, Facebook has acknowledged the issues, rather ironically, via its official Twitter account. The social media giant stated that it’s aware some people are “having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps” and that it is currently “working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
