The FCC approved the Nokia N93 phone, which was announced last month at the Nokia Open Studio event. The FCC pages show nothing new, just confirm that it is a tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM phone with 2100MHz European UMTS 3G band, which isn't really suitable for the US, as it would be able to operate only in GSM 1900 MHz and won't take advantage of 3G and all of its bells and whistles like video calling for example. Otherwise, the N93 is a neat device in dual-hinged clamshell design and large color displays. As a multimedia phone it also has 3-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and Carl Zeiss Autofocus Lens. The N93 has also nice Smartphone functionality it runs on the latest version of Series 60 Interface over Symbian OS and features Infrared, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The phone is expected to launch in June at a price of $682 and will be available in the US directly through Nokia's retail stores.
