European Union sees roaming rates slashed dramatically
If you happen to live in Europe and travel the continent frequently, then this information can potentially benefit you. The European Union has listened and reduced roaming calls within the EU by 70 percent back in 2007. Good news to all the consumers over there while carriers are dreading the new reductions. Under the new rules that commenced on Wednesday, EU roaming charges will be slashed further by 60 percent. Before all the rules were set in place, it was a scary thing to try and attempt using your mobile phone outside your calling area. You could have potentially been shocked by the bill you received at the end of the month. Now that there is a “single market without borders,” EU travelers can jet across countries without fear of “bill shocks.” The only one area that is still heavily charged for roaming are data services. So talk and text all you want right now, but just think before checking your email.
