The Essential Phone saga is far from being over, as the US-based company is struggling to ship its only product to customers who already pre-order it. Even though Andy Rubin promised the Essential Phone will hit the shelves one month after its official unveiling, that deadline has passed a long time ago.
The last time Essential
came forward with an official statement about the launch of its smartphone, it promised it will start shipping the product in a week. Unfortunately, that didn't happen either and the company's inability to fulfill its promises will surely hurt its sales.
Nevertheless, it appears that the Essential Phone has finally started shipping, but if you've ordered one, then you'll still have to wait until at least August 31.
Essential Phone units are still in transit from China and will arrive in the United States in a few days.
Although the initial shipment information confirmed Essential Phone units would be delivered by FedEx on August 30, the delivery was delayed by at least one day due to the Hurricane Harvey ravaging parts of the country.
If nothing bad happens again, you can expect to receive your
Essential Phone as early as August 31. But don't get your hopes too high just yet, as Essential is literally a monument of broken promises nowadays.
