Dual SIM Galaxy S9 and S9+ models listed, may sport dual VoLTE as well
Not that it comes as a huge surprise, but the Galaxy S9 may land with a dual SIM version for those who need hooking up to more than one carrier or plan. Samsung has filed for regulatory approval of a dual SIM handset denoted as SM-G9608, with the "8" in the end standing for a Taiwan model.
There are two more dual SIM versions listed there, too - an SM-G9600 for China, and the eventual Galaxy S9+, with an entry number SM-G9650. Given that the Galaxy S8 is SM-G950, and the S8+ is marked as SM-G955, there is every chance that these dual SIM devices listed in the databases of the Chinese MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) and on the FCC website, are their rumored successors.
Last week, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 845 chipset, which Samsung is likely to use for the Galaxy S9, and listed that the X20 modem inside has Dual SIM dual VoLTE support, which is an upgrade from the dual SIM feature support of the modem in the Galaxy S8.
