Did you know: 54% of people would rather have the new Galaxy S7 than a girlfriend or boyfriend!

It's a bit of a devilish irony that Samsung revealed the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge so soon after Valentine's day! According to the latest survey by trade-in price comparison website CompareMyMobile, it seems that not many things could tempt people into singledom quite like the new Galaxy S7! As revealed by the UK-wide survey, 57 percent – over half of the participants! – would prefer Samsung's brand new flagship smartphone over a loving, understanding partner. It makes sense – after all, your smartphone knows you better than some of your friends do, and still loves you unconditionally, warts and all!

That's not the end of the end of the game, though. 22% of the surveyed said they would ditch their current phone for the new Galaxy S7 in an instant. Another 65% of people would chose Samsung’s new flagship handset over a puppy (what?!), and 73% of the participants would rather have the S7 than a free lifetime Netflix account. Talk about priorities!

A hint of sanity still managed to poke its sensible head through these mildly disturbing results. Apparently, only 24% of people would be happier with the S7 than with getting a new car. That's still a sizeable percentage, though, so maybe Samsung should think about resurrecting its one-time car business from oblivion (link).

The hilarious statistics were revealed in a survey of 1027 people carried out across the United Kingdom. CompareMyMobile's director, Mr. Ashley Turner, said: “We knew the S7 was going to be a big deal, but the fact so many people would chose the handset over a partner is shockingly funny! We often see a surge in people trading in their old phones in the lead up to flagship device launches, but we didn’t realise so many people could be trading in their partners!” Right on!
