Dell Venue Pro & HTC WP7 handsets are given hacks that enable USB tethering
We've already reported on how Samsung's set of Windows Phone 7 smartphones can quickly be enabled with USB tethering functionality thanks to a simple trick, but other devices in the WP7 camp are beginning to see the same thing.
Actually, thanks to the team over at xda-developers, we're now presented with a method that'll allow HTC's brotherhood of Windows Phone 7 smartphones to gain USB tethering. However, the trick requires you to unlock your handset first before proceeding – which can be a tricky process in itself. But once you've gotten that squared away, you can now rely on your handset to provide streaming data speeds to your PC.
Meanwhile, the Dell Venue Pro is also treated with a method as well, but thankfully, it doesn't require you to have the device unlocked. Specifically, you'll need to only edit an .INF file to get the functionality to work.
Naturally, there are detailed instructions you'll want to look through before proceeding with the hacks, but rest assured, the thought of having USB tethering is undoubtedly a win-win situation for owners.
