Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi only tablet is expected to get its dose of Honeycomb in September?
Clearly overshadowed by the myriad of Honeycomb tablets that we’ve continuously been seeing for the better part of the last few months, the Dell Streak 7 has been overlooked by many due to its choice of sticking to an older build of the platform.
Some might have forgotten, but the Dell Streak 7 is actually powered by the same dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor in use by many other Honeycomb tablets. Luckily though, hope might be on the way for the Wi-Fi only version of the tablet seeing that rumors hint that it will be getting its Honeycomb treatment some time in September. In fact, it’s alleged that an over-the-air update will be made available some time then to upgrade the Froyo inspired tablet.
In addition, it’s believed to offer better battery life as well since the current build consistently pings the server – ultimately causing it to eat up precious battery. Sadly though, it doesn’t seem like T-Mobile’s 3G enabled version will be getting the update. But then again, there are always unofficial methods out there…
