Deal: Sony Xperia Z5 Compact price falls to $399.99 on Amazon
If you're looking for a compact Android smartphone that makes no sacrifice in terms of build quality and performance, Amazon's current Sony Xperia Z5 Compact price cut might be just what the doctor ordered.

At the moment, Amazon is selling the US version of the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact - in either white or black - for $399. That's $100 lower than the usual retail price, and an attractive offer overall.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact comes with a 4.6-inch IPS display running at 720 by 1280 pixels (319 ppi). True to its name, the handset also features a very good screen-to-front ratio. Here's how the Z5 Compact sizes up to the 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 6s and the 5.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S7:

While most phones in its size range feature mediocre internal specs at best, the Z5 Compact is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable internal storage, and a 23MP primary camera.

Sure, the Snapdragon 810 is not as fast as the new Snapdragon 820, and the handset also comes with just 2GB of RAM, not 3GB as most Android performers. However, during our review of the phone, we found that the Z5 Compact offers snappy performance in both the Android UI and 3D intensive.

Other notable aspects about the Xperia Z5 Compact to bear in mind is that the phone's 2700 mAh battery offers above average battery life and that the 23MP primary camera isn't as exciting as its specifications hint. We've got you covered if you're looking for more details regarding the handset:

As a side note, Amazon's promotion on the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact comes at an interesting time. This upcoming Monday, Apple will (most likely) unveil a 4-inch iPhone SE, a phone that will probably become the MVP of the compact smartphone market in the US.
